Maigret, Right and Wrong
This lovely first edition tells two stories, Maigret in Monmartre and Maigret’s Mistake.
Georges Simenon (1903-1989) created this famous detective in 1930. He published around 500 novels and many short stories.
This book is a first edition, published in Britain in 1954 by Hamish Hamilton. It is translated from the French by Daphne Woodward. This is a hardback with a lovely dust-wrapper. The dust-wrapper is slightly scuffed but has a lovely atmospheric illustration by Fritz Wegner (1924-2015) The inside pages are clean and bright.
If you are a fan of Georges Simenon it will be a joy to read these two stories in a book that carries the atmosphere of the period.
