Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe, illustrated by Arthur Wragg.

Arthur Wragg (1907-1976) was a unique artist. His black and white style of illustration is often full of symbols and quirks that draw the viewer into his dark world. He was a socialist and pacifist and avoided the world of fine art, choosing to produce work that spoke to common people rather than art-lovers. He produced cartoons, posters, advertising and many book illustrations.

Reading Moll Flanders along with Arthur Wragg’s full page images and also his free-flowing sketches is a delight.

Published by C & J Temple Ltd, London in 1948. First edition, hardback. Some bumping at the top and bottom of the spine. No dust jacket. Some small marks on the covers. Inside pages generally clean although some pages have a few small marks.
