Borne in Belfast and studied at Brighton College of Art, England, P. J. Lynch (b. 1962) has become a highly regarded illustrator. He has won numerous awards including the Mother Goose Award, the Christopher Award and the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal twice. The illustrations in this book are wonderful.

The magical stories in this book are from two separate collections that Oscar Wilde published when his two sons were young.
