Psalms for Modern Life, Arthur Wragg

Psalms for Modern Life is Arthur Wragg’s first book of social comment. Published in 1933 by Selwyn & Blount. Designed and illustrated by Arthur Wragg, Psalms for Modern Life was a breakthrough in the way that a book could raise consciousness and make a social statement.

Psalms for Modern Life is a passionate uncompromising book. Arthur Wragg was an artist much troubled by what he saw of the world around him. Psalms for Modern Life became a much praised and successful book, and one which changed the way the media and society of the 1930s thought and responded.

This is the eleventh printing 1936. Hardback in excellent condition with a rare dust jacket. The dust jacket is smaller than the book, as issued. Very slight damage to the dust jacket caused by a sticker on the spine. A nice clean copy with very slight fox marking on the title page.

The inside pages are clean and bright. It is rare to find this book with its dust jacket.
