The First Edition

This first edition of Winnie-the-Pooh is a lovely book in green cloth with a gilt vignette of Christopher Robin and Pooh on the cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. The top and bottom of the spine shows slight wear. The corners of the cover are slightly bumped. The pages are clean and bright. A small tear in page 111. There is a very slight cockle to the bottom corner of the first few inside pages, and some slight stains at the bottom of some pages. No dust jacket.

The end papers have a map of ‘100 Aker Wood’. The book in nicely inscribed (see photographs). Wonderfully illustrated throughout in black and white by one of the great children’s book illustrators, Ernest Shepard.

Winnie-the-Pooh – first edition is a magical piece of history. This 1920s publication has a charm of its own. This book is in good condition and an absolute delight to own and read.
