John Schoenherr (1935 – 2010) won the 1988 Caldecott Medal for children’s book illustration. His illustrations for this book mix a striking black and white technique with very effective use of spot-colour. A nice story with wonderful illustrations.
First published in 1966. This is a fifth printing. In excellent condition. Hardback with dust-jacket.
