‘Island of the Blue Dolphins’ by Scott O’Dell
This famous children’s book was first published in 1960, and won the John Newberry Medal by The Association for Library Service to Children in America. Set in the 1800’s this tells the story of an Indian girl who spent eighteen years alone subsisting in a desolate place, and the adventures she encountered.
This copy was published by Houghton Mifflin Company Boston in 1980.
Scott O’Dell (1898-1989) is an author of 26 novels for young people as well as other books for adults.
A hardback with a nice illustrated dust-wrapper. The wrapper has some small scuffs and marks but is in good condition. The inside pages are clean and bright.
