The first edition of the first Harry Potter book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was printed in a very short run. Only 500 copies of the first printing were produced, of which 300 went to libraries. There then followed a series of printings of the first edition. This copy was printed in the first year but is the 23rd printing of the first edition (30 29 28 27 26 25 24 23). This was the beginning of the Harry Potter publishing sensation.

As of May 2013 the books have sold more than 500 million copies worldwide, making them the best-selling book series in history. The success of the books, films and theatre production have made Harry Potter a commercial success worldwide.
Book Condition: Very Good with slight bumping on top and bottom of spine. Inside boards very clean. Inside pages are clean and crisp. There is a slight yellowing on the outer edges which somehow give this book its charm as the book that started the Harry Potter phenomenon.
Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good, unclipped. It has light crumpling on the top and bottom edges and very slight crease on back plus a couple of very small marks on the back.
This book is a nice original and rare copy.
