Storyworld Museum is launched

Storyworld is a new Dutch museum for comics, illustration, animation and games. It opened its doors on January 11 2020.

Visual storytelling is at the heart of this new museum. Storyworld’s director of marketing and programming says: “For the younger generations, it shows that this kind of art, the art they like and recognize, is worthwhile to show in a museum,” He adds: “For the makers it is important to be recognized as artists.”

The museum will show original artwork and the stages of storytelling, from artists and creative teams from around the globe.

Storyworld also has an extensive collection of comics, animation and games, including cartoon storyboards, animated film props and games. Part of the collection was inherited from the Comic Museum, which closed in 2019.
