This copy of Oz Magazine, Issue 39 contains some wonderful graphics and articles from the early 1970s, including advertising for Yoko Ono, the band Traffic and the Who’s new album ‘Meaty, Beaty,Big & Bouncy’. There is also an interesting review of this album and a Who gig.
Oz was one of the leading underground press magazines. It published artwork by new illustrators such as Robert Crumb. Each Oz magazine is a fascinating display of artwork and experimental typography. The articles give a wonderful insight into the cultural revolution of the 1960s.
