John Berger, Ways of Seeing

Sad to hear the death of John Berger

John Berger (1926-2017) was more than an art critic and author. He was a highly influential thinker. Although noted for his book and television series Ways of Seeing, his many other books are worth exploring.  He was a socialist, a novelist (Winning the Booker Prize), a poet and an artist.

Arundhati Roy, the author of The God of Small Things said this about John Berger: ‘John Berger teaches us how to think, how to feel, how to stare at things till we see what we thought wasn’t there. But above all he teaches us how to love in the face of adversity. He is a master.’

If you haven’t encountered his work, seek out his books. They will continue to have a remarkable influence on how we think and see.

Sad to see you go John Berger.
