Sydney Nolan, Ned Kelly

The Australian artist Sydney Nolan (1917-1992) was fascinated by the anti-hero Ned Kelly (1880-1854), and produced a range of paintings that depict the Australian bush and the life of this notorious outlaw.

This book was published in 2002 by the National Gallery of Australia and shows the 27 paintings held in their collection. It has a Forward by Brian Kennedy, and article by Murray Bail on Ned Kelly, Artist who created his primitive metal armour, and article by Andrew Sayers called Kelly’s words, Rousseau and Sunlight.

A nicely produced softback book with excellent full colour printing.
